Born in 1993 in Zhuhai, China, Yongshen Deng is currently based in Berlin.
Yongshen Deng studied at the Ruskin School of Art at Oxford University, and worked in the studio of David Thorpe in Berlin. His work intertwines images of personal Phantasms and silhouette of things, looking into different stylistic systems of display in paining, photography and cinema, seizing poetic points of their common transposition and conundrum. Painter Balthus, Caspar Friedrich and writer Robert Walser are notable influences. Deng’s international background is reflected in the flexibility of his work.
In the past two years, Yongshen Deng participated in following exhibitions:
Day-Rattle, group exhibition with Miguel Miceli, Mateo Revillo, Edgar Sarin at 81 Bis Rue Lepic, Paris, France, 2017
